ANSA asks us to “stay safe and healthy”.
The latest directive from the federal government and health authorities is very clear — we must all stay at home, unless there is a genuine and compliant reason for doing otherwise. The notion of being outdoors and going fishing — even if compliant with prevailing social distancing and gathering number limits — is no longer acceptable, and in some state and local jurisdictions could actually constitute an offence.
Against this background, the ANSA Executive has decided that all claims for fish captured after midnight tonight (Thursday, 2 April, 2020) will not be eligible for ANSA National Records or Master Awards. This embargo will remain in force until further notice.
See full notice from ANSA Executive Officer, John Burgess below.
Mr Burgess has advised that this embargo is in line with a similar one announced by the Game Fishing Association of Australia (GFAA).
